Jal Mahotsav, hosted by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board on the Indira Sagar reservoir at Hanuwantiya, is one of India's most distinctive tourism festivals — a 90-day water-festival drawing tens of thousands of visitors to a remote backwater destination. AUM Event was contracted across three consecutive seasons (2015, 2016, 2017) to deliver tent-city accommodation and hospitality.

Scope of Work

Multi-tier tent accommodation — premium swiss cottages, standard cottages, and dormitory backup. Full hospitality stack: bulk kitchens (sattvic and non-veg), mess halls, housekeeping, sanitation, drinking water. Coordination with adventure operators for water sports and parasailing. Cultural programming logistics on the festival stage.

Why this matters

Hanuwantiya is genuinely remote — the nearest serious town is Khandwa. Setting up a tourism-grade tent city in a remote location, running it for three months, and breaking it down without infrastructure damage is logistically non-trivial. We did it three years in a row.
